Jessica Pennington brings her amazing energy to the Passion Works Studio with vivid color, in paintings and products that tell a story. Jessica expresses her enthusiasm and creativity through many mediums. She is currently working with acrylics and watercolor paints, on stretched canvas, fine art handbags and paper mache’ sculpture. Her fresh, honest images transcend expectation to deliver a feeling similar to the dream-like themes of Marc Chagall. Congratulations to Jessica! Carole Miller, Passion Works featured artist for the month of March, livens up the studio with her stories of family, trips to Alaska and bowling with friends. Colorful birds, exotic plant life, and narrative stories of her life can be found in her paintings such as Carole’s Wedding, What a Pickle and Birds Over the Rushes.

 Patty Naffziger, Passion Works’ featured artist for the month of January, lights up the studio with her sense of humor and genuine concern for others. Patty is a humorous storyteller and entertains others by sharing memories of her childhood - all while capturing these adventures in her artwork. Favorite themes include her pet monkey, houses, snowmen, bunnies and family. Patty’s House and Snowman images have been translated to jewelry and her Snowman Bunny painting is featured on a greeting card. |

Dawn Deisher is Passion Works Studio’s featured artist for the month of October. Dawn is a prolific artist and sketches unique creatures from her imagination, where no two are ever alike. Favorite themes are Native Americans, angels, aliens, and friends. Her characters are filled with details and fascinating to view. Dawn’s artwork is reflective of her delightful nature. |

 Cardon Smith is our Passion Works Studio Artist for the month of March. Cardon is a wonderful artist and has an extensive portfolio that grows larger every week. Cardon is interested in floor plans and pictures of houses. He carries with him realtors listings as reference for his personal art. Cardon's paintings have a southwest feel and the colors that he chooses are reminiscent of clay mesas, deep purples, and orange sunsets, providing a desert vibe. Cardon has an amazing attention to detail and color, filling his canvases with an accomplished and completed look.

John Marquis is Passion Works Studio’s Featured Artist for the month of August. John has been with the studio for many years and has won the hearts of art lovers everywhere. His colorful paintings of medieval castles, hungry sharks, wise owls and fanciful monsters and bats delight the eye and spur the imagination! John Marquis creates art with a big bold style that features striking images and an ever-changing color palette. John is the shaman of the studio. He shares his calming humility with staff and artists as well. We are so proud and grateful to count John Marquis among our fine, prolific artists at Passion Works Studio. Kudos to Mr. Cardon Smith, our featured artist for the month of July! Prolific and passionate, Cardon uses layering and richly mixed color to build his paintings which often feature an architectural focus. Cardon frequently brings a portfolio of house plans with him to the studio where he seamlessly incorporates them into his art. Color-saturated geometric shapes dance on his canvases and 3-dimensional creations. He also likes to incorporate images created by friend and fellow artist,

Who else has this kind of open-minded energy and enthusiasm? It’s hard to imagine anyone could hold a candle to our Passion Works Artist for the Month of May, Dara Walburn! Dara’s artwork is all about smiling faces and soft shapes; bright colors and harmony! Dara’s welcoming personality shines through in her fine art as her artistic confidence continues to develop beautifully. She loves to collaborate with other artists and they, with Dara. Her ability to listen and offer support in the studio makes her precious presences. "Dara is a ray of light!" says Wendy Minor Viny, Artist-in-Residence. "We're always glad to see Dara come to work at the studio!" Yes, we are - congratulations, Dara Walburn, Passion Works Artist of the Month!
Troy Goins is our Passion Works Artist of the Month for April. Troy is a new, very talented contributor who has lived his passion for drawing since his childhood. Troy has a strong, natural style with an intuitive sense of proportion and movement. He loves drawing in the Anime tradition, inventing new characters to place in fantastic settings and situations. Troy also renders striking nature scenes on bird houses, painted purses and canvas. He recently has produced a painting titled, “Picnic Harvest,” which is being featured as a new image on our beautiful large and small tempered-glass cutting boards for sale in the Passion Works Store. Troy is a big fan of video gaming and music. He is a delight to know and we are proud to count him among our fabulous artists at the studio. 
Hats Off to Blane Morris, the Passion Works Studio Featured Artist for the month of March! Blane’s art is wild, wonderful and unique. His themes often revolve around the unpredictability of nature, evidenced in weather patterns and catastrophic natural events. Lightning, twisters, thunderheads and volcanoes surface regularly in Blane’s paintings. These are an understandable focus for a man with such a commanding personality. Blane is a bright light in the Passion Works Studio as he contributes to the collaborative fine arts process. Stop in to view some of Blane Morris’s fine art and to delight in our new Fine Arts Gallery installation, “Big Ideas,” where images of Blane are featured. Congratulations, Blane Morris! Passion Works Studio sends our heartfelt congratulations to Noah Hogan, the Featured Artist for the month of February! Noah’s passion for learning sparks many a spirited multilingual conversation in the studio. His interests range from marine biology, botany and paleontology to music, humor and yes, the visual arts. He often labels the flora and fauna that dominate his artwork with scientific names appropriate to each species; a delightful merger of fantasy and science! Noah’s colors are saturated and crisp and his sense of humor plays a part in his thoughtful compositions. Stop by Passion Works to view Noah’s beautifully exuberant art!
Marilyn Tucker who is Passion Works’ featured artist for December is a delight to work with. Marilyn is a focused artist who is very enthusiastic about making art. Her work reflects her pleasant and patient personality. Marilyn often creates scenes or a collection of favorite images in her works. She is very intuitive with her color choices and strives to have a finished-looking piece.
Fred Cremeans, one of the studio’s newest artists, is the featured artist for November. Fred’s love of people and the simple pleasures of life are the themes most often seen in his artwork. Favorite topics range from groups of people and their dwellings to ice cream cones and snowmen. Fred brings a feeling of calmness to the studio with his gentle and kind spirit.
Jason Licht is Passion Works featured artist for October. Jason is a poet and artist, as well as one of the studio's resident philosophers. He is a dedicated advocate for persons with disabilities and was very active in promoting a statewide bill to have the term “mental retardation” dropped from local county boards and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. Artistically, his abstract expressionist style embraces the full range of human emotions. Jason continues to develop his style and is constantly on the search of new artistic expression.
Bill Dooley is the featured artist for August. He is both a fantasy and reality illustrator whose art is inspired from his dreams and world travels. Favorite themes include dragons, aliens, mythological characters and persons from other cultures. His images have been translated into the 
Jonathan Salzman is Passion Works’ featured artist for July. Jonathan is best known for his whimsical animal illustrations. Cobras, turtles, rhinos, elephants and bats are his favorite and most frequently painted animals. These creatures have graced one-of-a-kind paintings, 
Harry Grimm is Passion Works Studio’s Featured Artist for the month of June. Harry is the studio historian and through his paintings he records and raises awareness of local and global current events. His most recent work is

This month’s featured artist is Chris Biester. Beginning his career with Passion Works as a volunteer, he enjoyed the process of inspiring, as well as being inspired by the artists in the studio. While he has a wide array of artistic experience, Chris focuses on drawing and painting. His personal endeavors include illustrating for various publications and designing album covers for 
Paul Coe, one of the studio’s newest artists, is the featured artist for December. Paul displays a strong sense of artistic composition as he creatively divides canvas space. His work includes rows of sunflowers, landscapes and “almost futuristic” images. Paul’s delightful sense of humor lightens up the studio as he teases and jokes with others.
Andy Holley is Passion Works Studio’s featured artist for the month of November. Andy spends his time in the studio bringing to life pop culture icons through his use of vibrant colors and creative imagination. A diehard fan of wrestling, Andy captures wrestlers and other sports figures in his fun and unique works. Andy also likes to craft artistic images of Hannah Montana.
John Marquis is Passion Works Studio’s featured artist for the month of September. John’s playful creations include seven foot tall monsters, spooky houses, giant cactuses and sharks. His is known as the creator of the studio’s logo - the Passion Works Guy. Other popular images such as the Hairy Guy have been translated into a clock and his Long Earred Guy comes as a pin or as a whimsical image on baby apparel.
Wendy Minor Viny is Passion Works Studio’s featured artist for the month of August. Wendy began her time at Passion Works as a volunteer in 1999 and quickly moved into the Lead Artist-in-Residence position of that year. Wendy's ability to work collaboratively and individually is a huge contribution to the studio. Her refined use of light and layers is used to guide rather than influence the creative process of artists she works with. Wendy studied sculpture and painting at both Ohio State University and The Columbus College of Art and Design. In 1993, she co-founded Standing Stone Arts Collective in Amesville, Ohio, where she lived and worked collaboratively until 2001. Wendy is also an artist with the Ohio Arts Council’s Artist-in-Residence program, teaching painting and found-object sculpture in Ohio’s public and private schools. She has been recognized for her own work as well as for her work with Passion Works Studio on National Public Radio, PBS (Conversations in Humanities), and various publications such as Dialogue, USA Today and Ohio Magazine. 
The Passion Works Studio Featured Artist for the month of July is Jeremy Allman. Jeremy creates colorful, abstract backgrounds by drawing and painting intricate lines of interweaving colors. These backgrounds are often layered with imagery from other artists in our collaborative studio to create outstanding one-of-a-kind pieces such as Flowers in the Piano. His artwork has also been incorporated into the inside sleeve of the CD “My Little Pancake Button” and in Path to the Garden, a useable and attractive cutting board.
Jason Douglas is the Passion Works Studio Featured Artist for the month of June. Jason is known for his drawings of bugs, people, commercial products and holidays. Jason remembers dates of old movie releases and birthdays and can quickly match and label information to correspond with the images he has drawn. He is a fast worker with an ability to detail art at super speed. Jason also loves to wear t-shirts (featuring soda logos) with the soda that he happens to be drinking at the time.
Mary McBrayer, aka Sissy, is the Passion Works Studio Featured Artist for the month of May. Mary is known for her personal collection of seasonal aprons and socks which she wears during the appropriate holidays. Mary loves to paint people having tea, kitchen items, household furniture and other “pieces of life”. Her art is featured on the covers of “
Marsha Washburn is the featured Passion Works Studio Artist for the month of April. Marsha is a delight to work with. She always enters the studio with a smile on her face and asks everybody how they are doing. Her art is reflective of her cheerful nature. Marsha is known for her garden pictures, full of colorful and smiling flowers and monkeys. Her “skinny monkey” was the inspiration for the title of the studio’s first magazine, The New Skinny Monkey Magazine, which includes a postcard with her monkey image.
David Dewey, aka Pepe la Dew, is the featured artist for the month of December. David is a long time contributor to Passion Works Studio. His work can be seen and enjoyed in many fine art pieces, products and in song on the Passion Works CD, "
Jonathan Salzman is Passion Works’ featured artist for November. Jonathan is known for his whimsical animal illustrations. Cobras, turtles, rhinos, elephants and bats are his favorite and most frequently painted animals. Sarina Winner is the Passion Works featured artist for October 2007. Sarina is known for her beautiful paintings of flowers situated on top of abstract backgrounds. Her abstract textures can also be seen on our Passion Flowers and Christmas ornaments. Sarina has really grown as an artist in our studio. Asked to be a participant by her boyfriend/artist, David Dewey, Sarina gave the studio a try, and has become an accomplished painter. Sarina's style is vibrant, full of movement and texture, with an added touch of realism. Her paintings are from the heart touching on themes of love and natural beauty.

Mindy Henninger is known for playfully teasing people all day long, for drawing sun shines and for her love of Bob Barker. She refers to herself as Bobs greatest fan. Mindy is always concerned how people are doing and she alwalys asks about people's children. Congratulations to Mindy for being Passion Works featured artist for the month of July.
Alexis Rhinehart’s life passion is Smokey Robinson. After getting two kisses from him at a concert in 1998, she began to study his life story and memorize his music; she then adapted this focus directly into her art making. Alexis translates her love for Smokey into words and integrates her stories into paintings, poems and sculptures at Passion Works Studio. Alexis will be happy to tell you that what she cares about most is Smokey Robinson.
Harry Grimm is Passion Works Studio Artist of the Month of May. Harry has been recently working on two commissioned pieces. One for a wedding and one for a nursery. He is also allegedly working on piece featuring Mary Tyler Moore to raise awareness for diabetes.
Carolyn loves drawing flowers and flower people. Her flower petal designs were used to create the Passion Flower, which was named the Official Flower of Athens. Her designs can be seen in the floral sculpture within the fountain at the Athens Community Center and in jewelry pieces offered at the studio shop. Recently, Carolyn participated in a creative writing residency sponsored by the Ohio Arts Council. During the residency Carolyn contributed two eloquent comic strips featuring her flower people as the main characters.a division of Atco, Inc.
