Passion Works Show at Casa Nueva Restaurant is on now, through the month of August! (Casa is located right up the street from the Passion Works Studio in uptown Athens, Ohio on West State Street; next to the Court Street intersection). Come dine for breakfast, lunch or dinner in the center room where you’ll enjoy a party of Passion Works art. All the art is for sale and very affordable! The title of the show is “5 Artists and a Studio.“ The “Five Artists” being featured in the Casa Cantina and in the primary dining area include artists Kate Gorman, Mark Hackworth, Debbie Griffing, Wendy Minor Viny and Passion Works founder, Patty Mitchell. All of these artists have done influential residencies at Passion Works. It’s one powerful show! Don’t miss it!
Passion Works Studio to be Highlighted at Global Gallery in Columbus. The Short North Gallery Hop is Saturday, September 4, 2010. Make it a point to check out all the beautiful offerings at Global Gallery (link here?) located at 682 N. High Street in Columbus, Ohio. Global Gallery is a Fair-Trade Marketplace packed with unique and beautiful items from around the world. You’ll want to take this opportunity to browse the Short North and support Passion Works Studio by stopping into Global. We’ll be showing at Global Gallery through the month of September. From the Carter Presidential Center in Atlanta, to The Czech Republic, our handmade paper passion flowers are the choice of many a bridal party! Each flower is a miniature work of art hand decorated by our Passion Works Artists and assembled lovingly, piece by detailed piece. These beautiful, sturdy flowers are available as single flowers and three flower bouquets, with much larger bouquets and arrangements available for special order. Call the Passion Works Studio to arrange for a consultation and price quote. These little beauties are labor intensive, so they require some lead time to make them perfect for your event. |

John Marquis is Passion Works Studio’s Featured Artist for the month of August. John has been with the studio for many years and has won the hearts of art lovers everywhere. His colorful paintings of medieval castles, hungry sharks, wise owls and fanciful monsters and bats delight the eye and spur the imagination! John Marquis creates art with a big bold style that features striking images and an ever-changing color palette. John is the shaman of the studio. He shares his calming humility with staff and artists as well. We are so proud and grateful to count John Marquis among our fine, prolific artists at Passion Works Studio. Congratulations, John Marquis, Passion Works Featured Artist for the month of August! You so deserve the honor!

First of all, we bid a fond farewell to Production Artist, Max Wheeler as he moves on to travel the Northeast United States as a sales associate for a poster firm. He’ll be targeting bookstores that cater to university students looking for a little pizzazz to brighten a dorm room. We’ll miss your talent and good humor, Max! We wish you great success!
Next, we are pleased to introduce Noah Cline, who is taking over the duties Max covered in our studio. Noah comes to us with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology and Media Studies, focusing on Society and Media. Noah is out-going and full of enthusiasm for his new position with Passion Works. Noah told me, “I feel like I’m in a production of Alice in Wonderland! There are so many beautiful things to see, people to meet and ideas to explore!” We invite you to stop by the studio and store to meet and welcome Noah. We’re so happy to have him join our team!
And finally, our Lead Artist-in-residence, Wendy Minor Viny is due to deliver her second child in August! So she is taking some time off to prepare, be close with family and of course, to give that new baby a great start. We’re sending Wendy and her family our best wishes for a speedy delivery and a wonderful bonding experience with the new addition to their family. Wendy, we miss you and will expect you to drop in to visit all the artists and show off the newest member of the Minor Viny family!
